At Queensbury Day Nursery, we entirely understand that leaving your child at a childcare setting for the first time can be a daunting experience. We will work very closely with you during this time and do everything we possibly can to make it a positive experience for all.

From the moment you visit nursery for the first time you and your child will be welcomed by a senior member of staff (usually the Manager)

If you decide that we are the nursery for you , once you have returned your registration forms and agreed a start date we will arrange settling in sessions with you,  which will begin with a “stay and play” session with you and your child.

 

We will ask you to complete an “All about me” booklet so that we can capture in-depth information about your child. At this stage, we can talk through your child’s needs and routine, along with any special medical or dietary requirements that we should be aware of.

Partnership with parents

At the end of each session you will receive a thorough handover on your child’s day. This will include the food they have eaten, whether they have slept (and how long for), their general health and well-being and the play and learning experiences that they have taken part in.
